Problem: Beam to column-web connections (BCW) sometimes require the bolt lines outside of the web space and beyond the flange lines. With double angles, the beam web must fit between the two angles, which becomes a fit-up and erection problem. Single plates and their web welds are limited in out-of-plane load resistance.
Solution: Provide WT's with a one sided connection for the beam to the column. Provide a stem dimension input by the user, i.e. - WT6, cut from W8x28. Provide a welded plate T, i.e. base PL½" with stem PL½"x6" wide w/ 3/8" fillet weld, NS/FS. These are in addition to the present options with either single plates, or with double angles.
Thanks.
