SELECTING AN END POINT FOR BEAM EXTENSION CANTILEVER
There is only an option of inserting cantilever length or provide X or Y intercept for beam extension. It would be useful to have an option of selecting an end point like stubs.
But what if you were able to click a point and the program could determine an extension to that point, while keeping the beam aligned on it's axis? Sort of like how an "extend" command works in Revit or CAD?
The reason we haven't implemented such a feature is because if the user selects a point that isn't aligned with the beam, the resulting beam won't be straight, and the program doesn't have a way of analyzing such a beam. Generally in that situation you know either the X- or the Y-coordinate of that location so you can use the Intercept option to add the cantilever to that point; otherwise, yes you have to go to some effort to determine that, but the program prevents you from creating a tweaked cantilever condition that the analysis can't handle.
