Designing a Vertical X-brace connection with one member continuous
99% of the details I have seen for vertical x-bracing shows one member continuous. I design a lot of connections for a steel fabricator and I am always required to perform a hand calc or 2 ram connection calcs with one being the horizontal X-brace...
In the Analysis -> Load Combinations we are able to view a member force envelope for the Max or Min, but not the absolute value for worst case loading. When looking at a braced frame elevation with brace axial loads, in order to determine the a...
Allow gusset BASE PLATE connections to be assigned at corner columns connected to braces in two directions.
Currently, there is no way to design a gusset base plate connection if the column base has braces coming into it from 2 different planes. You can't even assign 2 separate connections, one for each plane, like you can at CBB joints.
Currently you can only export the end reactions to a report. It would be beneficial to be able to export the reactions at ever node (specifically to a text file) a long the wall for foundation design.
I am designing a horizontal column-beam-brace connection where one beam is a W12 section and the other is a W8 section. Due to field conditions, I cannot adjust the beam elevations to align at the column. Given this, we should be able to modify th...
It has come to my attention that the program is using the Foundation base-soil friction coefficient to compute the passive pressure resistance when using Columb (it's using this to back calculate "delta"). To be frank, this is just wrong IMO. The ...
